Milow lets the spring sun shine

Soundz Rating: 8/10

Milow’s eighth studio album, Boy Made Out Of Stars, has finally arrived, marking a journey of rediscovery. After a period of rest, during which he spent time with his family and enjoyed both the ordinary and extraordinary moments of life, Milow returns with music that feels honest, raw, and vibrant. And in that, he has certainly succeeded.

By Marco Aarden

The album opens with “One By One”, a track that slowly builds and takes you along on Milow’s adventure. “Get Up And Go” delivers the vibes of Los Angeles, the city where he spends half of the year living and working. In the Dutch Soundz Podcast, Milow shares the touching story behind “Family Tree”. The song features the voice of his late father, extracted from an old recording using AI technology.

Milow is eager to go on tour and perform the songs live. The album was recorded live, which is clearly noticeable. The uptempo tracks radiate joy, while the slower songs provide warmth, giving you the feeling that spring could begin at any moment.

Milow creates stunning Magazine

To bring fans closer to the album’s creative process, Milow has come up with something special: a magazine, or as he prefers to call it, a time capsule for Boy Made Out Of Stars. Inside, you’ll find handwritten lyrics, studio photos, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and snapshots from the making of all 15 music videos for the album. Every page is a piece of this journey, a way to immerse yourself in the stories and creativity that shaped this album.

“Castaways” was released as the fifth single from the album, featuring Austrian-British singer-songwriter Florence Arman. The single was produced by the duo DECCO and mixed by Mitch McCarthy, who has also worked with Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan. Prior to Boy Made Out Of Stars, the singles “Tell Me Twice”, “I’ve Been Expecting You”, “Crazy For You”, and “One By One” were already released.
