Beth Hart’s new album, You Still Got Me, delivers a deeply personal and powerful collection of songs that lay bare her emotions and life story. Released on October 25th via Provogue / Mascot Label Group, the album showcases her unmistakable ability to convey every word and note with passion. The title track, “You Still Got Me,” is an ode to the love and support of her husband, Scott, who has been her rock through tough times. It’s an intimate, honest look at the strength of relationships and the importance of emotional support.

Hart is known for her intense stage energy and candid lyrics, and this album is no exception. It opens with the raw “Savior With A Razor,” featuring Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, whose sharp riffs provide the perfect backdrop to Hart’s powerful vocals. Another highlight is “Suga N My Bowl,” where she teams up with guitar virtuoso Eric Gales to create a funky, groovy vibe that sinks deep into the soul.
The track “Wonderful World” offers a rare optimistic sound, written for her family, especially her niece. It’s a tribute to the strength of female heritage and the strong women who inspire her. At the same time, Hart doesn’t shy away from weighty themes. In “Don’t Call The Police,” she shares her pain and sorrow over social injustice, inspired by the tragic events surrounding George Floyd. The song is heartbreaking and essential, one of the album’s most vulnerable tracks. My favorite? It has to be “Wanna Be Big Bad Johnny Cash.”
Beth Hart seeks collaboration
Under the guidance of producer Kevin Shirley, with whom Hart has previously collaborated, the album was recorded at the iconic Ocean Way Studios in Nashville. Shirley describes Hart as a “diamond,” a mix of raw energy and refined sensitivity. The collaboration results in an album that spans soulful ballads to explosive rock tracks, unmistakably reflecting the heart and passion of Beth Hart.
With You Still Got Me, Beth Hart once again proves her status as one of the most impressive voices of her generation. She remains true to herself, inviting her fans through her music to explore the dark and light sides of life together.
